We're EXPANDING and need the help of our community!
THE COLONY is making a move and can't wait to share even more MAGIC from within the walls of the brand new DANCE COLONY Studios. We know the importance of a village and right now, we need ours more than ever. Opening a dance studio or any small business just months before the start of the pandemic was no small task to survive. Very few know of the hardships we went through to sustain business and share our love of dance with our adored Ravenswood neighborhood & World at large. Alas, here we are... standing strong and sharing our gifts from two separate locations, one solely for Adult Dancers and one solely for Youth Artists in Training.
Mission of our Move
Don't worry, we're not moving far. In fact, just a few blocks south from our current Youth Space. The new space will grant us the opportunity to reach even more of our community and allow us to offer more age and level specific classes. The expansion will take us from a single 1,200sq. ft studio to a 7,500sq. ft facility. The new space will consist of:
- 3 studios
-A lobby
- An office for our incredible team
- Changing rooms
- Locker room
- Hangout space for our company
- A kitchenette
- Multiple bathrooms

This is a much needed expansion given the direction in which our company is headed.
Introducing DANCE COLONY
DANCE COLONY, Our new home will allow for the growth of our current company The Colony while providing more space for additional classes and programs. In the coming season we are expanding our class programming to offer two levels of technique classes for our current highly competitive training program. In addition to adding more technique classes for our in-house company, we will also be expanding our youth recreational offerings. COLONY Kidz will offer classes weekly for four separate levels; Pre-K (ages 3-5), Mini (ages 6-8), Junior (ages 8-12), and Teen (ages 13+). With the additional space and ability to offer more levels, we plan to expand on our virtual offerings in the fall for our non-local students that love training with our inspiring faculty.
We need your help!
We are looking for financial support to help make this dream of a project happen within our anticipated timeline. No donation is too small. We plan to run this building campaign for the entirety of our buildout so that we can update our supporters of our progress with bi-weekly emails, photos, and videos. Your financial support will go to help offset the costs of the following:
